THE FUNNIEST DOG IN THE WORLD ~ 'SANDY' 1995-2008

I feel like my heart has been ripped out and stomped on.

Here are our favourite pics of our girl, I only hope she has an endless supply of smackos and bones in dog heaven. RIP.

8/8/08 - BEIJING OLYMPICS

Ever since we had a mini Olympics at Churton Primary when I was 5 (and we won tin foil medals!) all I have ever wanted to do was pull on the silver fern and represent NZ at the real thing. So when I got the offical news that I made the team last week, I was over the moon to say the least!

This has been one of the hardest years for me personally, and I couldn't have got this far without all the help and support of so many great people. I dont have room to write everybody down but I would like to say a huge THANKS to all my family, friends, sponsors and supporters. Bring on the wontons and fried rice! Ha.

Some how I dont think the weather will be like this.....

CATH AND THE CITY....

When the line is too long to go to the Statue of Liberty...find your own!
Times Square
The view from the Empire State building.

After watching the Sex and the City movie I was inspired to head into New York City to check out the sights. I did purchase a new pair of shoes, but not quite like the ones in the movie as I think I would break a leg trying to walk in those things!

What can I say.....Lots of people, long lines, expensive, smallest hotel room in the world, great views, broadway show, bright lights, and heaps of fun.

This week I am back on track, I had my first session at the velodrome today and although it was tough, it feels good to be 'home'! Its doesnt feel quite the same not having Dayle there yelling at me though. He is enjoying the sunny weather in Perth with the NZ Junior team and hopefully will be able to post something if he finds some spare time.

NATURE VALLEY & THE NEW ADDITION TO THE BLOG!

The Nature Valley Grand Prix ended up being really successful for the team, we won the teams GC and also got 3rd (Anne), 5th (Leigh), 8th (Laura) and 12th (Me), overall. I felt really tired all week so am looking forward to taking a few days off the bike to recharge the batteries after a huge racing block.

I have been noticing alot lately, that speaking Kiwi is quite different to speaking American. So to help my American friends out and to show how we differ I am going to add "Kiwi-101" to the blog, with a new word or phrase each posting and I will also put it in a sentence!

Kiwi- 101: Chilly bin: portable insulated cooler box, cooler. " Hey Joe, can you throw me a coke out of the chilly bin".

I think we may have won the award for the most random team shot aswell! L to R Cath, Stacy, Laura, Anne, Robin, Leigh and Marisa.
